Kia Ora from Kaea - CEO - Senior of Management of The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust.
A tena ra koutou katoatoa. I am probably the busiest person in The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust and I rove a lot, collaborate a lot, inter-associate, and interrelate a lot in my day as well as take care of all my other professional responsibilities as CEO. I have 5 pokai as well under my contract or specific wahanga that I look after, monitor and track on a daily and weekly basis 7 days a week. But before we go into all the work our organisation and myself are obligated with, just a little on current plans for the next 3-5 years for us as we endeavour to make our way towards securing our re-establishment in our national rohe.
Over the next 2 years The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust will endeavour to establish its incorporation, its runanganui, President and Vice President. The runanganui incorporation will be responsible for the general governance of our supertribe Ngai Tahumakakanui's entire rohe from Te Wairoa to Te Whanganui-a-Tara, and from Porirua, Aotea, Horowhenua, Otaki, Rangitikei-Manawatu, Aorangi and Waimarino across to Kaikoura whilst our present offices continue locally and regionally.
But leading up to this point, we will establish our organisation multi-locally, multi-regionally, and multi-nationally. In other words, its operations and departments will spread out into various branches at every level to ensure operations are more effective and efficient. This will also raise productivity, work quality and ensure my job a lot easier as we will have many junior managers and directors on our boards working together to achieve goals and maintain our establishments from throughout and around that common thread that binds us together as a supertribal entity, 'iwi,' or iwinuitonu still today - te reo tuturu o Tahumakakanuimatua me ohona tikanga, kawa me te tika.
Over the period we will establish our operations also multi-internationally from throughout all our ancient descents in 20 different countries throughout the world. Having several options in the way we will be able to approach this we will initially look to develop relations, collaboratives and reciprocal interrelations with all those descents. We will live, learn and develop programmes that these things can take place on a regular basis among them. And we will ensure that we can create provisions that enable them the same in our rohe in Aotearoa - Hawaikitau - New Zealand as well.
But the major aim we will take into those further interrelations is to reintegrate, and reignite the interrelations of long ago of our tipuna with them and learn and relearn all we need to know about our ancestries, our heritage from throughout their peoples, their cultures and their developments and advancements past then, and preserve these things as well within our organisation. We will reunite with all our descents and their ancient beginnings and learn all there is to know about us through them - as just as we are 'each Tahumakakanui - and Tahumakakanui each of us' so do we see and know that so are we 'each of them and they us' beginning and remaining with our first and foremost - the Moai.
Even the beginnings in getting to know them and all their heritage which we know is ours too has been an amazing learning experience. And such a step in the right direction that we have aims to do this for all our ancient descents as well as continue strengthening this strong developing relationship we have initiated with them. Still a long way to go. But we are confident it will continually be robust.
What our international plans will achieve to the broadest extent possible is our farthest reaching goal. And that is to achieve true total re-establishment for our 'iwi,' iwinuitonu or supertribal entity Ngai Tahumakakanui, which we believe goes right back into our ancient beginnings - never shunning our own korero tuku iho for all these things of course, or our Moai/Maori heritage - but reuniting with parts of our history we were also cut off from as a result of colonisation by the Crown.
So, if you can, assist us, or even join us on our quest to re-establish. Share the journey with us as we look to open up provisions to ensure we create ways of repaying groups and individuals that do. And also ensure we can guarantee all interlinks with our supertribal entity and from it as well as all interassociated and interested parties similar advantages as Ngai Tahumakakanui with our organisation. Although we were established initially as kaitiaki of the entire of the tapu and mana of their supertribal consistencies, including reo, kawa, tika, tikanga, whakapapa, whakapapa korero, korero tuku iho and many other aspects we are also well aware that our success is mainly due to the many helpers, volunteers and employees that assist us.
So contact me to find out what those provisions and advantages might be exactly. And enjoy your experience as we share with you our work we have completed so far for Ngai Tahumakakanui and forward plans as we look ahead to 2025 via the next 3-5 years. And as we view our corporate strategic vision and corporate mission (below) with a view to '2050 and beyond.'
Tena koutou, tena koutou, tena ra ano huihui tatau...!
Corporate Strategic Vision: 'Maintaining strategic alliances through all our most senior descents - robust, strong interrelations - guaranteeing pronounced development.'
Vision Description: Every employee, volunteer, member of staff and personnel of The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust is immediately dedicated to obligations under Tahumakakanui tikanga that develop the intergenerational transmission of tika, kawa, tikanga, reo tuturu, all precepts of te ao kohatu of Ngai Tahumakakanui, our supertribal entity or iwinuitonu. If viewed as designs, each would be committed to as if the very blue-prints that assist one live within the customary ways of our tipuna, and all that the organisation must accomplish and be proactive in as an integral part also of Ngai Tahumakakanui.
Committed to, therefore, with earnest they also lay the foundations for future generations of Ngai Tahumakakanui to whom staff are always indebted, and dedicated to ensuring are equipped with all consistencies and necessities from throughout all precepts customary to Ngai Tahumakakanui. Established as a kaitiaki - a protective, guardian and caretaker of all these things - The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust looks to re-establish also the entire supertribe for all those future generations.
Robbed of the mana and tapu of its customary identity, social, political, cultural and legal status of existence by the Crown in 1839, 1840, 1850 and regularly afterwards The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust seeks to affect its re-establishment through development from within the greatest extents of its authority and capacity. This still remains one of their several more priority aims.
Initially recognising only Ngai Tahumakakanui, it now serves all 'iwi,' iwinuitonu or hapu interlinked or descended from them. And services encompass all those that have in any small, or large way assisted The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust or its iwinuitonu find success on their journey in their quest for re-establishment as a supertribal entity.
The establishment of The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust as an incorporation and runanganui are other strides to be taken over that journey. Just round its next bend, the organisaton is already prepared to re-establish multi-locally, multi-regionally and multi-nationally.
Included in the entire shift in focus and redefining of primary goals it aims for its people to live, operate, assist, learn, further develop, grow, and find re-establishment completely from within all its ancient descents. The major objective in its quest to achieve these things stems from the desire of its people - stakeholders, iwi, the organisation itself also - to learn about, preserve as well as caretake over all they can about their ancient histories, ancestries and their journey's also.
Seen as a lifetime journey The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust is dedicated to ensuring the journey is achieveable, realiseable and materialised. The growth and development of their iwinuitonu depends on it. Self-interdevelopment depends on it. Understanding where their ancestries came from and, were derived, why and how they eventually came to the Pacific Islands (to Rangiatea - Raiatea), the challenges, the failures, if any, and the entirety of their ancient heritage so as to preserve this also for future generations.
The furthest extent of the journey is viewed by The Ngai Tahumakakanui Iwi Trust as the truest extent of what complete re-establishment means for its iwinuitonu. The desire to share, develop and grow amongst its ancient descents are other strides to be taken along the way. And for true kaitiakitanga - protection, guardianship or caretakership to be affected - from throughout all broadest possible extents - there is only one way either could also be taken to such completion. And that is also - for Tahumakakanui - under Tahumakakanui tikanga.
